Fanaa !!
"Hamse door jaoge kaise, Dil se hamein bhulaoge kaise;
Ham wo khusboo hain, Jo sanso mein banste hain;
............. khud ki sanso ko rok paoge kaise."
"Baithi hain hothon ko seekar, Pachtayengi aap;
Ishq jag uthta hai aksar, aisi khamoshi ke baad."
"Tujhe is bajar ka dastoor main samjha nahin sakta,
Bik gaya jo.... wo khariddar ho nahin sakta."
"Bhool kar ke agar hamse koi bhool hui ho,
To bhool samajh kar bhoola dena;
Lekin Bhoolana sirf bhool ko,
Galati se bhi hamein na bhoola dena."
some, which i can relate to :D ...like.......
"Kahte hain mohabbat mein neend nahin aati hai,
Koi hamse bhi mohabbat kar le,
Kambakhat neend bahut aati hai ."
And finally..... the one i forgot in exact words.... i am putting here in english
"To choose between right or wrong is simple, but what defines one's life is the decision between the greater of two goods or the lesser of two evils."
Hall of Shame
And i can do nothing about it, There are thousands of young students doing hunger strikes all over the country, forming human chains, doing protests against the new reservation system to be implemented. They are people from highly respectable educational background, who have no personal concerns what-so-ever about it. They can complete their graduation and live a comfortable life thereafter. Why are they so concerned, why are they so bothered. why can't they just think of their salaries like some are thinking about their vote bank. The only reason i can think of is that these are the people who know the consequences and are not selfish enough to ignore them.
I read thoughts of an alumnus of IIT kgp, The honesty and sincerity with which he has put those words so aptly is really appreciable. But the fact remains that those are hardly the things, which matter to our politicians who are taking decisions for us. I am afraid to say this but if this decision is implemented, we will be doing a great injustice to the talent which is bubbling with enthusiasm to make india proud. And the loss suffered will be something which can not be recovered.
Wings of Fire
Dying of boredom and frequent power offs in my room; I was desperately searching for a book to kill time. Luckily I found the book, which I was planning to read since forever. It is “Wings of Fire”; an autobiography of ‘AVUL PAKIR JAINULABDEEN ABDUL KALAM”. He is the man from rameshwaram who proved himself as one of the most talented scientist
- When the student is ready, the teacher will appear
- Bread baked without love is bitter bread that feeds but half a man’s hunger. Those who can’t work with their hearts achieve but a hollow, half hearted success that breeds bitterness all around
- All reasonable men adapt themselves to the world. Only a few unreasonable ones persist in trying to adapt the world to them. All progress in the world depends on these unreasonable men
- For all your days prepare, and meet them ever alike; when you are the anvil, bear – when you are the hammer, strike.
- Beautiful hands are those that do, work that is earnest and brave and true; moment by moment, the long day through.
- If you want to leave your footprints on the sand of time, do not drag your feet
- Good and bad people live together under the sun as the black thread and the white are woven together in a cloth. When one of the black or white threads breaks, the weaver should look into whole cloth, and he shall examine the loom also.
- A big shot is a little shot who keeps on shooting
- As a child of god, I am greater than anything that can happen to me
Needless to say the book was a an inspirational reading, a scientist who believes that science and god are interrelated and very aptly put his thought as
God has not promised
Skies always blue,
Flower strewn pathways
All our life though;
God has not promised
Sun without rain,
Joy without sorrow
Peace without pain.
But god has promised
Strengths for the day,
Rest for the labor
Light for the way
Philosophical......
Kal kya hoga, soch ke kyun pareshan hai;
Na us kal ko tu badal sakega,
Na is kal pe tera bas chalega.
Kismein kitna dum hai, Ye jaan ke kya hoga,
Mujhmein itna dum hota, Ye soch ke kya hoga;
Na tu kisi damdaar se do do hath karne vala hai,
Na khayali pulao pakakar kuch hasil karne wala hai.
Tere jeevan ka lakshya bas itna hona chahiye,
Tujhe apne aaj se shikayat nahin honi chahiye;
Kisi aur ki unchai se teri kimat nahin ghat jayegi,
Karmpath par chala chal, Tujhe teri manjil mil jayegi..
